Please bear with me

It's Saturday morning at 5:30 am as I write this week's reflection, so please bear with me, as I am feeling a little nostalgic.

You see, today, I take the stage for one of my mentors. She's asked me to share with her audience, what it's been like to work with her. To do that, I have to reflect on my journey and share what got me to the point of seeking her expert advisory.

But before I share that journey here with you, I want to share the value of mentorship.

You see, it can be an extremely difficult journey to the top if you try to do it alone. Certainly you can eventually get there all by yourself, but why rise alone when you don't have to? Why take 10 years when you could do it in three or some times less?

What my father always told me growing up is to always seek wise counsel when you strive to do anything significant. They can mold you, shape you, warn you, advise you. They can show you the promised land while saving you from the lions, tigers and bears, and trust me, in business there are a lot of lions, tigers and bears.

He was right!

From the early days of stepping into the accounting profession, to rising to CFO, to starting and building a multi-million dollar business, to selling that business and starting something new, I've always had wise counsel.

Today, my mission is lofty.

I've spent my entire career serving, supporting, and grooming small businesses. It has been my life's passion and my life's work. And while I have the pleasure to have worked one on one with a few hundred small businesses in my career, my mission now is to change the disheartening statistics. I want to help far more to enter the 9% club, build a legacy, and create financial freedom and generational wealth.

My mission is to help a million achieve millions!

What I know about that goal is, I can't come close to achieving that mission if I play small. I've got to do something HUGE to achieve that mission.

That leads me to today.

Earlier this year, I engaged a Media Expert to help me spread my message. She has opened up the possibilities for me. She has helped me craft my pitch. She has helped me hone my story. She has helped me become very succinct and direct with my message of a lifetime. She helped me give birth to a passion project, Legacy Builders Business Accelerator, just by helping me to get all of my ducks in a row and quack a harmonious quack.

So, today I will take the stage, share my story, and walk firmly in the direction of serving a million small businesses by helping them realize their legacy.

I've seen far too many businesses remain stagnant. I've seen far too many businesses invest hard work, time, money, their retirement, and more only to get to the end of their road and quit or fold with nothing to show for their grit. I've seen far too many businesses end a lucrative stint in business, cash out and later try to sell only to find there is no value in the business. I've seen far too many businesses extremely hard for years and barely make enough to support their livelihood.

One thing I am extremely proud to say is those are not my clients. My clients have been educated about the depths of their businesses. They are armed with information, insight and impact to achieve what they endeavor. They know without a doubt,where they should focus their energies and efforts. They have a road map; a North Star. They have expert guidance. They have access to resources and capital. They have engaged key team players at the right time without hindering the bottom line. They always follow their North Star. They are constantly thinking of ways to secure and grow their investment. My clients are growing business as an asset that provides the gateway to greater opportunities, investments, and a lifetime of wealth.

That's all I want for you!

I tell others this all the time. If I can do it, so can you!
