OUR FOUNDER

Lisa Anderson, Founder and CEO of Anavo Transformation Solutions, knows first hand the difficulties and challenges of scaling a business.  Lisa grew her business from startup to a multi million dollar enterprise, something less than 1.2 percent of women entrepreneurs in the US can claim.

But hitting the seven-figure mark forced Lisa to look at her life and take inventory of the things she placed above her family, her health and herself.

The light bulb blazed after playing hooky with her now college educated daughters – on a Monday. In all the fun, her girls told her that was the first time she had ever ditched work on a weekday just to be with them. That’s when she realized she needed to make a change.

She went on a mission to have it all and, you guessed it, she managed to accomplish that too. She knew there had to be a way to remain a powerful business leader while still making time for her husband and her daughters, taking more vacations and spending precious moments with her aging mother. That’s when she uncovered the methods that created the balance between booming business and the priorities in her personal life.

One of Lisa's mantras is, “numbers tell a story and they never lie.” She teaches her clients to understand what the numbers in their businesses are really saying to help address red flags before they become black holes that drain essential resources.

Lisa's track-record speaks for itself. After 30 years of hard work, she has helped launch and grow hundreds of small businesses while training entrepreneurs to be leaders in their industries.

Lisa uncovered the methods that created consistent business growth.  Now she teaches others how to follow those methods.  Lisa teaches business owners how to turn a business into a profitable, scalable and sustainable asset

Lisa is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Leadership Coach, Certified Government Contracts Expert, Former Adjunct Instructor, and a Serial Entrepreneur.

10 fun facts about me:

  1. I’ve known that I wanted to be an Accountant and an Entrepreneur since I was in high school after taking my first accounting class ever. Numbers have always been my thing. I believe I got it honestly from my parents. My mother was a Budget Analyst and my father was an Engineer.
  2. I am an avid reader. You can always find me with a business, leadership, inspirational or self help book in my hand. I try to read at least three books each month. I am so obsessed with reading that I have to put myself on a book diet frequently. I believe information is power and increasing your knowledge gives you leverage.
  3. As a native Washingtonian (Washington, DC that is), I absolutely love Go-Go music. My kids make fun of me, but it’s ok. You can take the girl out of DC but you can’t take DC out of the girl.
  4. I am unapologetically in love with God! He goes everywhere I go and He guides my every step. I embrace his presence in all aspects of my life and incorporate His lessons and directions as I mentor business owners. God is my CEO.
  5. Second to God, my family is most important. They are the fuel behind what I do. My husband, Pat, has been my number one supporter and encourager. In fact, without his very strong nudge, I would not have started my first business. My girls, Kayla and Krista, mean the world to me. They are truly the WHY behind my WHAT. My mother, who is my best friend, also made it possible for me to be in business. She stopped what she was doing and retired to care for my children and my household so I could work the very crazy hours of a business owner.
  6. I am a Facebook fanatic. I love being social on this social medium. I have been fascinated to see just how the six degrees of separation has reduced down to one degree. You want to know what I am thinking? Find me on Facebook.
  7. I love birthdays, vacations, and massages and one is not more important than the other. I’ve learned that the only way to be a successful and balanced entrepreneur is to care for yourself first and care for yourself often. Therefore, I make a big deal of my birthday. I take two or three long vacations each year. I have a massage any and every chance I can get.
  8. I love to travel and see new things and create new experiences. I’ve been to many places to include England, France, Italy, Switzerland, Hawaii, Mexico, Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahamas, and looking to experience more. What’s on my bucket list? Not much, because I make certain I satisfy my cravings and go where I want and see what I want. That’s why we are in business, right? To see the world and love our lives.
  9. Much to the surprise of many, I am an introvert. While I absolutely love people, I need my alone time. That’s when my creative juices flow. I need space to roll up my sleeves and deliver my genius!
  10. I am absolutely in love with the success and growth of small businesses. So much so that I’ve dedicated my entire professional career to that endeavor. While many of my colleagues have worked for Government and fortune 500 businesses, I’ve remained planted strong in supporting small business. I know how they tick. I know what they struggle with. I know how to get them over the hurdles. I know how to help them make the transition from plateau to profiting.
